Vlog 4

Hey I'm Will, from Media Education
This Vlog Today is on Advertisement and Distribution.
Before web 2.0 advisement took the forms of posters, billboards, cinema, dvd adverts, Tv and Promotional Events. However in 2002 broadband entered the UK this allowed Web 2.0  to be born. Web 2.0 meant that we had the means to share images and movies though the internet.
This allowed for Social Media to be born. Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Instagram and bunch of others .Because of how many people use these services this is a great way to advertise, also this is extremely effect as you can easily target the right demographic of the film. If we put this in example, So say and an a film like Secret Life of Walter Mitty they would expose more advertisement to people who like there viewer profiler.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, is produced by 20th century fox. This Means that this film would also be advertised by using our old friend, synergy.  This means that the movie would of been shown on fox tv to the metro news paper. Using Tv is another effective because you can get you demographics easily another way they can do this is put in places that people who match the viewer profile match.
One way films are get publicise is by reviews,  this film was rated 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Another  way is to host events e.g red carpet premiere. This creates ‘hype’ about the film as they is press there so this gives off a lot of exposure for the film
A movie Is designed to be distributed to cinemas this is the first place the movie is shown, this is important. Since having new thec it is cheeper and faster to distribute as they can buy a hard drive instead of a movie real.
Other ways distribution are by dvd and download. Being able to download was part of  Web 2.0, also with Web 2.0 we are able to take a dvd and put it on to a sever and you can access it from any where in the world. Another way films are distributed are by monthly subscription e.g Sky, Netflix, Now tv, etc….   Walter Mitty would of been on Sky as Sky is in the same conglomerate as 20th century fox.
